i lost my phone!

i lost my phone today on my way home and i think either the taxi driver or the guy working on some festive lights on the trees near the office has it.

i was on the bus stop when i realized that it was missing so i borrowed a co-passenger's phone to call my mobile. voila! a guy answered the call. i told him that i own that phone and asked him if he could return it to me. he said yes, but he also said that he wants something in return. he said "i want you." i was scared and said i'd just call him back.

when i arrived home, i called my mobile again and he answered again. i asked him if he was the taxi driver and where he found it. he told me he's not the driver and he just picked it up on the ground near [the office]. he was asking me where i was so he could give it to me. he didn't demand for anything this time but of course, i didn't tell him where i was and just said that i was in a hotel and just using the security's phone. he agreed to meet me tomorrow near the office to give me my phone.

i'm scared of the guy and i have this feeling that he'll blackmail me or do something bad when i meet him tomorrow. but i still need to get my phone back. [i don't really care much about the phone but the personal info i have there, aside from my mobile number, which i need to keep.] i'm planning to have some security staff with me tomorrow. i just don't know how yet.

this is the second time i've lost a phone. the first time was hehe.. very funny actually. reminds me of that unforgettable bday party. :D You can click here should you wish to reminisce with me: http://jsfiles.multiply.com/journal/item/47/Bye_bye_phones.. haha

anyways, lesson's learned:

1. always always mega always check your belongings when getting down the taxi or bus or whatever. i always do that but i failed to do that today because i was busy looking at the arriving bus.

2. don't attach your key to your mobile. i actually used my phone as my key chain. haha. stupid me. i think i'm the only one who does that. so there, good thing they have a spare key at the reception- i was able to enter the unit.

3. don't store personal info in your mobile unless it is secured or password protected. i don't really store personal info on my mobile but i'm just afraid that there might be bits of info like accnt numbers on the messages or in the phonebook.

4. memorize at least 5 numbers of the people closest to you in case of emergency. Good thing i know my housemate's number and i have my officemate's number in my email.

more lessons to be learned tomorrow, i guess...

Bible puzzle :)

There are 30 books of the Bible in this paragraph. Can you find them?

This is a most remarkable puzzle. It was found by a gentleman in an airplane seat pocket, on a flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu, keeping him occupied for hours. He enjoyed it so much, he passed it on to some friends. One friend from Illinois worked on this while fishing from his johnboat. Another friend studied it while playing his banjo. Elaine Taylor, a columnist friend, was so intrigued by it, she mentioned it in her weekly newspaper column. Another friend judges the job of solving the puzzle so involving, she brews a cup of tea to help her nerves. There will be some names that are really easy to spot. That's a fact. Some people however, will soon find themselves in a jam, especially since the book name is not necessarily capitalized. Truthfully, from answers we get, we are forced to admit it usually takes a minister or scholar to see some of them, at the worst. Research has shown that something in our genes is responsible for the difficulty we have in seeing the books in this paragraph. During a recent fund-raising event, which featured this puzzle, the Alpha Delta Phi lemonade booth set a new record. The local newspaper, the Chronicle, surveyed over 200 patrons who reported that this puzzle was one of the most difficult they have ever seen. Daniel Humana humbly puts it. "The books are all right there in plain view hidden from sight." Those abler to find all of them will hear great lamentations from those who have to be shown. One revelation that might help is that books like Timothy and Samuel may occur without their numbers. Also keep in mind, that punctuation and spaces in the middle are normal. A chipper attitude will help you compete really well against those who claim to know the answers. Remember, there is no need for a mad exodus. There really are 30 books in the Bible lurking somewhere in this paragraph waiting to be found. God bless.

Let me know kung di na kayanin ng powers nyo, i'll give you the answers... hehehe

Missing Buddy

I haven't heard from you for quite a long time now.. for almost a year actually. I've sent you text messages and emails, called you on your mobile, posted testimonies and comments, signed in your guest books and visited your sites. I've been trying to reach you for the longest time but to no avail... Sounds pathetic, I know. Maybe to some, pitiable.I’ve actually asked myself if I did something wrong… something that made you angry or pushed you away. But I learned that I am not the only one looking for you.

I remember you telling me several months back that we were actually in the same phase, looking for a way to break free, wanting some time and space away from the chaotic and crazy world. You told me that if I need it, I should try to get it. I was happy to hear that from you, knowing that you supported me and you understood my situation. I knew that you’ll be out of touch, too. You’ve been doing that for a few months already and I was indeed having a hard time getting in touch with you during those days. I’d thought you were being evasive because you just needed your ‘moments’.

But months passed by and you were still hiding until I was no longer able to pin you down. I came back from my very long vacation cum retreat a.k.a. escape and I didn’t hear anything from you. You didn’t even greet me on my birthday. I left and you didn’t say goodbye. You didn’t greet me happy holidays or merry Christmas or happy new year.I may not have the right to ask all of this from you, I know. I’m just someone who terribly misses the person I once knew so well… I miss the endless hours of chatting about basically everything and sometimes nothing. I miss the days when I would do everything to avoid you ‘cause we’ve been together 24x7 and I can no longer stand being with the all-knowing and too-good-to-be-true you. I miss your advises and your critical remarks. I miss drinking beer when you’re just drinking juice or water. I miss your stories, especially the funny ones. I miss debating with you. I miss discussing faith and fate with you. I miss wondering about the future and wandering the dangerous streets with you. I could say that I miss your silence, your weapon. But your silence now is killing me.

I don’t know what got into me and I suddenly became so schmaltzy. Maybe I just miss all the people who used to be around me all the time and you just happened to be one of them. Hah! Unlucky you. I know you’ve changed and it’s hard to change back, maybe. But then, you should know, my tears are falling because I’m missing the person you used to be.

So come on, Batman. Get out of your bat cave. At least show the Joker some face. We are still who we are for all you know...
